Opportunity

One of our clients, a long-established endowment for a local high school for the performing arts, was looking to create and implement a new investment policy statement for their almost one-million-dollar endowment. They were unhappy with the out-of-state advisory firm they had been working with, and wanted to work with a firm who could provide personal attention and in-house fixed-income solutions.

Solution

Our team collaborated with the endowment board to create an investment policy governing statement that could be adjusted based on changing market conditions. We ensured that our values and personalities were a good fit with the board and that we could provide individual attention. Our in-house fixed-income manager explained portfolio suggestions. In addition, the foundation’s financial advisor worked to transfer the accounts and help with any issues.

Outcome

While the investment goal of most endowments is typically straightforward (to exist in perpetuity with sufficient assets to cover all operating expenses, even when expenses increase) they still require diligent planning and reliable investment management. By managing all aspects of the endowment’s accounts in-house, we provided comprehensive support that is only a phone call away.
